HERSHEY PARK
and
CHOCOLATE WORLD
On August 22 we went to Hershey Park.  We were staying in Lancaster, but it is only about 1/2 hour drive to Hershey.  I had a great time.

It was very crowded, but one good thing about being in a wheelchair is that you get a V.I.P. stamp on your hand.  You get this at the Rides Office inside the Park.  The V.I.P. stamp means that you can go in the Exit for the rides.  They will tell you how long it will be, and sometimes they write a time on the sheet, and you come back.  But you don't have to wait in the line.
There was a chocolate factory nearby.  You get into the chocolate factory, and you wait in line.  They take the wheelchairs in a different way so you don't have to go upstairs.  You get to a place where there is a moving floor, and a little train.  The guy put the wheelchair right on the train!  The train goes into the chocolate factory and you see where they make cocoa, and how they make all the chocolate!  I want to say thanks to Mark, who helped us get onto the train with the wheelchair.
Thanks to Lisa and Roberto for the picture!
Mty favorite rides were the carousel (of course), the mini-Himalaya, the monorail, and the train.  I want to say thanks to Zach and Marissa who welcomed me onto the carousel many times!  Also, Ralph let me stay on two times in a row.  I also want to thank Nikolay for his help on the mini-Himalaya.
Special thanks to Courtney who put my wheelchair on the back of the train.  They have a little lift that she let down.  Thanks everybody at Hershey Park!

They had a really cool dolphin show.  There is space for wheelchairs at the top.  One person can stay with you.  My dad took a whole roll of pictures of dolphins!
My dad and Kathleen went on the big rides.  They were gone 4 hours and only went on two rides!  The lines were really long.  They say it's better if you go on a cloudy day.

The next day we went to Dutch Wonderland, another fun park in Lancaster.  You get a discount if you buy tickets to Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland together.  You can do that online.
