| I go to the beach in the summer. I have a Thomas the Train pail. I like to build sand castles and I like to go in the water. I like someone holding me in the water more than I like wearing a life-preserver. They don't allow boats or swimming toys in the swimming part, but they do allow Coast-Guard approved life-vests. Of course, they allow beach toys on the sand. |

| It is a little hard to get down to the beach in a wheelchair because you have to push it over the grass and down a hill to the water. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I had a NJ State Parks disability pass, which lets me go in free with my family, but my mom lost it. We applied for another one. Meanwhile, you can buy a season park pass for $50. It's good at all NJ State Parks.* | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There is a food stand and bathrooms with dressing rooms. There are handicapped stalls, but it's hard to keep from getting wet & dirty there. There is also a handicapped accessible single restroom, but the door was locked. I guess you have to go find somebody and ask for a key. Anyway, Lake Hopatcong is cool - especially on a hot day! |

| *Footnote from Mom: The "Total Disability Pass" is good for free parking at all NJ State Parks. You can download an application from the NJ Parks website, or get one at a state park. Then, have your physician fill it out, and mail it with documents showing residency to their Trenton office. We got our (new) pass back in a couple of days. |
