Did you know.... The flag of Switzerland is square, not rectangular like most flags?
Did you know.... There are four (yes, 4!) official languages in Switzerland? These are FRENCH, GERMAN, ITALIAN, AND ROMANSCH. Most people speak at least two languages before they get to 6th grade, and most adults speak three or more languages.
Jacqueline - speaks French, English, Dutch, German, Spanish (last I checked) and is married to a guy from South America, but they live in Romania!
Marilyn - speaks French, English, German, Spanish and reads Italian and Portuguese. Lives in the U.S.A. and teaches languages.
Jocelyne - helped me (Mrs. Cahill) learn French in 4th grade when I was new in a Swiss school. Still lives in Confignon, GE Switzerland, in a beautifully converted stable!
Monsieur Pascal Ducimetière was Mrs. Cahill's 6th grade teacher in Switzerland, 1968-69 school year.. He is currently retired from teaching and pedigogical work, and now enjoys traveling, pottery, and exploring caves!
Madame Simone Pavlovitch was Mrs. Cahill's 5th grade teacher in Switzerland, 1967-68 school year. Dr. Pavlovitch is currently a professor of French at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois
